CHAPTER 54

Lyla

The past few days I had so much to do, rearranging my schedule, going to my house and packing. It’s been a whirlwind. Now though, it’s nothing but the hot sun and the blue ocean.

“What are you doing out here by yourself?” Colt asks.

“Waiting for you until we can go down to the water, this place is a dream. Thank you for bringing me here,” I spin around, my arms going around his neck.

“Anything for you, Lyla, anything,” he presses a kiss to my forehead before grabbing my hand and leading me out the door to head down to the beach.

“I didn’t even grab a bag, Colt,” I remind him. We’re in our bathing suits, Colt in a pair of black board shorts, highlighting his muscles. I’m in a high waisted bathing suit, with a triangle type top that has slashes of colors everywhere, almost as if it is a watercolor.

“We won’t be down here too long, we’ll come back. Right now, I just want to watch the sunset with my woman,” he almost bellows, as we run down the path that leads to the beach.

“Okay,” I breathe out and never question him again, even when we get to the beach and I see rose petals formed into a question. “What?” I say in shock. There’s Colt on bended knee, a ring box in his hand asking me, “Lyla, babe, do me the honor of allowing me to love you for the rest of our lives and marry me?”

My whole body is shaking, tears are streaming down my cheeks, and I have the biggest smile on my face. I drop to my knees, tackle hugging Colt, while saying “Yes, with everything I have yes!”

“Thank fuck,” Colt whispers in my ear. Then, his lips are on mine and he’s standing up. I’m still in his arms, he grabs me on the back of my thighs and I climb him like a tree.

“I love you,” I tell him before smashing our lips together, and that’s what we do right here on the sand with passersby watching us, a few even clapped, but for the most part everyone could have been here, and we wouldn’t have noticed them.

Our tongues meld together, each of us tasting what the other has to give. It’s the most amazing feeling being in Colt’s arms.

“Love you, Lyla. I told you we wouldn’t be out here long,” he groans, and then while I’m still wrapped around him, he takes us back to our room.

“Where’s the key?” I ask in between kisses.

“Front pocket,” he mumbles, my hand glides down his body initially going for his pocket, but I get sidetracked along the way. When I feel the bulge he’s sporting in his shorts, I palm his length, sliding the palm of my hand and squeezing.

“Fuck, if you don’t stop, I’m going to take you right here against the palm trees,” Colt bites at my neck.

My body shudders in need, that’s when I feel the bark of a tree against
